The Body Shop Lip Butters

I discovered the lip butters last year when my lips were dry and I'd had such a bad day. I remember because the lady in the store was so lovely to me when I was sopping wet and looking like a drowned rat. She really made my day and she gave me a hairband to tie my wet hair up and a wipe for my running mascara. Needless to say, I prefer waterproof eye products now and if there was a 'till lady of the century' award... I'd fight her corner all the way!

The Body Shops Lip Butters - £4.00 each

My prefer the Shea Butter version by a long shot! It's my kind of taste/smell!

The Mango smells absolutely disgusting to me! But then again I hate all Mango products. All of the scents are sickly when used a lot but if you just smudge a little on your lips then you'll be fine. If you're pregnant and your smelling abilities are at superhero level... avoid these, lol. 

They do leave residue on your lips but because the Shea and Mango are less transparent so they show a lot more.

Personally I love these Lip Butters *ignoring the mango smell is hard*. I don't use them during the day but I love to slather them on at night so I wake up with a moisturised, soft pout in the morning.

It's one of those products that varies in reviews depending on each person's preference. It's not universally loved and it's not universally hated.

You're the judge on this one... this is just my two cents.

All About Me.

All About Me was my third lipstick from Topshop. I'd lusted over it for a while but I wanted Brighton Rock more and then I wanted to buy a few nudes and I loved the look of Nevada *wish I'd bought this one instead*...

It is definitely the most vivid and yet the deepest lipstick I've come across after MAC's Girl About Town. It's a blue toned pink that makes your teeth glow white.

I'm very pale so it stands out like crazy. I think it'd suit all skin types as long as you dare to wear it!

The Topshop lipsticks are amazing to me as they're quite matte which I love. Their texture is lush and they're quite thick so one swipe would do!

It does stain a little so you have to scrub a little harder to get it off your lips but it's worth it if it lasts all day, right?

I think so.

9/10 for me! 

It's scored down because it does cling a little to dry bits so I have to keep on top form with moisturising my lips!

It's a Scandal!

It really is a Scandal how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this lipstick.

I cannot believe I spent so long in Selfridges ummming & ahhhing over getting this. It's amazing! If you're a gigantic matte lipstick fan like me... you will love this. It's matte, it's thick. One swipe and you're done. You can even see how thick it is from the heart I drew above.

 Illamasqua are easily the best at designing their packaging. I love the logo, the shape of the packaginge, the look and I love where they've placed their name. I can't fault the design at all. Sometime I hate the name label on the bottom too but I have no quips about theirs.

Scandal itself is a yellow-based pink and is such a sweet, candy colour. It's very vivid on the lips and is a definitely show stopper so I tend to wear it with a very minimilistic eye otherwise my whole face would be in hooker mode!

To be honest... I barely wear this... not because it's horrible but because it was so expensive... at £15.50, I want it to last!

I will definitely buy more of their lipsticks though! They're my ideal finish & texture.

I also love Illamasqua for catering to the freak in all of us! Their make up looks and ad campaigns are amazing.

It's a shame they don't sack/fire that snooty madam in Manchester Trafford's Selfridges though. She's so rude. Only negative!

The Body Shop's Warming Mineral Face Mask

I'm a huge fan of facemasks. I find them so fun to do... I know that's strange but I love relaxing in my pyjamas... hair all messy... facemask on... and some crappy TV. Perfection.

This one is a particular favourite of mine... as you can see I'm almost out of it!

The lady at my local Body Shop knew my regular purchases and suggested I try this.

I loved it instantly!
Be warned. It does go very warm if you're very warm. I applied it the other day after I had a hot bath and it was near the point of burning me!
So try to apply it when you're just in your normal, mid-temperature enviroment because I presume the warmth of the product depends on the temperature of your skin.
It's very relaxing!

 Like I say about all face masks too... instant guy magnet!
I mean... could you really resist THAT?
It reminds them of a simpler time in a far away place...
A place where people get crap all in their hair and eyelashes. Not the best application, lol.
But my sad & thoughtful facial expression pulls it off!

A Dreamy Review

I've never bought anything from 17 as I presumed it was a brand solely aimed at teens and tweens who were just looking for their first make up so I didn't think anything would appeal to me. I figured it'd be bright, in-your-face colours and have too much scent and no moisture for my lips.

I was wrong... I love this lipstick.

It's quite matte which I LOVE but I know a lot don't. The colour is one that I haven't seen before and it goes on a lot brighter than it is in the solid form. 

It's not the most moisturising lipstick in the world but it doesn't stick to any dry bits and it lasts a long time.

I will be buying more when I never go into town and I look forward to it too!

The packaging is really lovely but IDK if I could stand the bright blue packaging they also have for lipsticks.

MUA Blusher Review.

I've wanted to do a review on MUA Blushers for a while now but was so busy working that I never had time to finish it.

I originally bought the Shade 1 blusher by MUA because I wanted a dupe for a Ted Baker one I got in a set of 'books' *compilation palettes* for Christmas. It was a gorgeous peach colour and I had hit pan pretty quickly. I couldn't find anything in MAC or Boots that was a perfect match and Ted Baker didn't sell them anymore.

I walked into Superdrug with no hope and there it was... looking back at me. It was love at first sight. AND IT'S ONLY £1.00, YOU SAY? Well, gosh.

Of course it wasn't exactly the same... MUA Blushers tend to fill the brush in one dab whereas Ted Baker is a more solid consistency.

 The downsides for me are the names. Boring. Bland.

Speaking of the names... on their new releases, I noticed that a lot of the Blushes have the same Shade number which is obviously because they're discontinuing the past ones but as a blogger... it annoys me because now if I do a tutorial or a make up lookbook and say "oh, this is Shade 1"... people are going to be all "no it ain't, wench".

 Now there was no need to call me a wench! It's MUA, not me!

Anyway, the blushers themselves are very nice. Dip your brush onto them lightly because they crumble like a bitch and they're very pigmented *also a huge plus*.

They glide on effortlessy and you only need one swipe as they can because cakey if you're slapping on swipe after swipe.

For £1.00... they're absolutely amazing.

Bargain hunters to the go!

Nevada's not so hot.

This lipstick... not much to say! I love the texture, I love the packaging, I love the colour... just not on me!

It's a buy that will probably be used once or twice a year... under gloss!

It makes me feel so blahhhh and boring. I hate it!

I have one other nude that I want to review but after that I give up! I can't be bothered wasting the money and then being so disappointed with something!

If you absolutely love nude colours and can pull them off then I'd say get this because it's £8.00 and the texture is amazing. It's a matte and definitely has some staying power. It does cling to dry bits on your lips though so moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

Brighton Rocks!

I'm so, so, so, so happy that Topshop decided to do a beauty range because I am in love with their lipsticks and nail varnishes. Brighton Rock was my first lipstick and I use it at least once a week! It isn't one for the faint-hearted as it is very bright but I LOVE my bright lipsticks... if you couldn't tell already!

It's retailing at £8.00 but I think that's a bargain as I do wear it all the time!

It's a matte consistency... all of their lipsticks I've bought are either matte or semi-matte.

They do have a habit of sticking to dry bits but as long as long as you're all moisturised... you're good to go!

It doesn't glide on super soft and it isn't moisturising but if you love the matte look... these are definitely for you!

It's such a good make up to lift your mood as well! I always feel really peppy and confident!

I hope you all buy it here! I'd love you all to feel as happy and upbeat as I do!

Oh, and that packaging! I hope they don't change it! It's so adorable and quirky!

I also love the label at the bottom. Straight to the point. No numbers. No fuss!

MAC's Girl About Town review!

I always look on the MAC website before I go into the store because I love to write a list of the colours that I'm attracted to so I can just ask one of the girls if they can give me advice on the colours and my skin tone!

I have bought a lot of nudes that make me look so dead. Now I just ask!

When I saw this colour... I almost licked the screen! It is so sexy and amazing!

It's a bright fuschia and as soon as I put it on... I feel a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

 It glides on so well! It's smooth and soft. It feels so moisturising as well! My boyfriend isn't a fan because it is hard to get off once it's on your lips so he avoids kissing me too much when I'm wearing it, lol.

It is a little pricey at £13.50 but I don't see the price tag when something makes me feel this good about myself.

I see it as an investment into many days of happiness and confidence.

This is one that I'll repurchase again and again!

Giving me fever...

So, I've always been a huge fan of Beyoncé. I've always looked upto her and wanted that body! Oh, Lord... that body!

I've never been a huge fan of celebrity fragrances. I would always get them as gifts. I did like a few... J.Lo Miami Glow, Christina Aguilera's first perfume and Darling by Kylie Minogue... this may sound like a lot but I have so much perfume! Those three are just a few at the bottom of a full drawer and Darling is actually my mother's.

When I heard that my boyfriend's sister-in-law wanted this as a gift from us last Christmas... I complimented her choice and thought nothing of it.

As soon as I saw the shape of the box under the tree... I knew what they got me. The full set!

I hadn't even smelled it... I was just being polite but it was lovely of them to remember.

Now, when it comes to the actual fragrance... I am not a fan. It is way too strong for me.

I'm usually a fan of deep, woody tones but this is migraine-inducing. 

I absolutely HATE vanilla. I find it so sickly and annoying and I can smell it in this scent.

It's very, very sickly and it's the kind of perfume that you spray once and run in order to avoid smelling like a prostitute's purse.

On a brighter note... I actually love the body lotion and body wash! They're not as strong and the lotion soaks into my skin straight away.

I'm usually one for more organic scents on my skin but I use this now and then when Mikey and I have a date night.

I still haven't mentioned what I love most about the lotion yet... it has shimmer in it! 

I hate glitter but I adore subtle shimmers in blushes, bronzers and lotions! It has the most amazing, gold shimmer and it makes you look like Edward Cullen trapped in the Bahamas. Pretty lush!

Pink Plaid by MAC

I've always been a HUGE fan of matte lipsticks. I love Revlon's Pink Pout and it's clearly a dupe for MAC's Pink Plaid.

This is going to be a shock to everyone but I absolutely hate the scent of MAC's lipsticks and at £13.50... I'd rather buy Revlon at half the price.

I saw this in the store when I went to Liverpool and I couldn't resist even though it seemed very familiar!

I have to admit though... I love this lipstick. I love the texture, the colour... I even ignore the smell easily because it makes me feel so good!

I still think the price tag is very steep but it was a gift to myself and I don't smend stupid amounts on make up that I won't use and I use this at least 3 times a week!

The only warning I have to give before applying matte lipsticks is to make sure your lips are moisturised, moisturised, moisturised! Matte tends to stick to all of the dry bits on your lips.
